The Cadre provides professional development for school districts, individual public and private schools, organizations, and early childhood programs.

Cadre members will strive to understand your needs, and build a custom-designed professional development program for your staff, school, department or district.

Members can also assist you in developing presentations for specific audiences, (i.e. PTA, Board of Education) to promote and advocate for your program.

The group got its start by collaborating to update of the Connecticut Physical Fitness Assessment, and providing 22 regional workshops across the state to introduce the Assessment program and train teachers and administrators in its administration.

Cadre members have been trained and certified to train school and district staff and administration in the use of the CDC Physical Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (PECAT).

Some members are CAPE (Certified Adapted Physical Educator) certified.

Since its inception, the Cadre of Physical Education Trainers has developed and offered a wide range of programs and presentations (see Sample and Custom Modules) across the state, region and nation.

The Cadre hosts or co-hosts the annual Election Day Conference for Physical Education, a full-day program featuring current and cutting-edge topics by notable presenters. The Election Day event includes a menu of health education topics as well. The Conference is attended by upwards of 500 educators and leaders from every town and district across Connecticut (See Upcoming Events).
